Frequently Asked Questions
Are we accepting new clients?
Yes, we are! We’re always excited to welcome new pets and their people to the Best Friends family. You can fill out our new client forms online before your first visit to help us get to know you and your pet better and make your appointment as smooth as possible.
What kinds of pets do we care for?
We care for dogs, cats, and other exotic pets like guinea pigs, reptiles, and even amphibians! If you’re not sure whether we can see your pet, just give us a call—we’ll be happy to let you know how we can help.
What does our AAHA accreditation mean?
Our AAHA accreditation shows our commitment to the highest standards in veterinary care. Fewer than 12% of hospitals in North America earn this distinction. It means we’ve met over 900 standards for safety, medicine, communication, and cleanliness—and that we’re constantly re-evaluated to keep improving.
Do we offer payment plans or financing options?
Yes! We understand that veterinary care can sometimes be unexpected. That’s why we partner with CareCredit and Scratchpay to make paying for your pet’s care more flexible and stress-free. Together, we’ll help you find an option that works for you and your budget.
How often should my pet come in for a checkup?
Most pets should visit us at least once a year for a full wellness exam. Puppies and kittens may need to come in more often so we can keep a close eye on their growth, and senior pets should visit every six months so we can monitor their changing needs. Regular checkups help us prevent problems, detect changes early, and keep your pet feeling their best.
Do we handle emergencies?
We handle many urgent and emergency cases during our regular business hours. If your pet needs help right away, please call us before coming in so we can prepare for your arrival. For after-hours emergencies, we work closely with trusted local emergency hospitals to make sure your pet always has access to the care they need.
