Standards of Care
AAHA accreditation demonstrates our commitment to exceptional veterinary medicine
Best Friends Animal Hospital and Pet Resources is committed to exceptional veterinary care and service. As part of that commitment, we are proud to be recognized as an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)-accredited practice.
Less than 12% of North American veterinary hospitals have attained AAHA accreditation.
What is AAHA?
Since 1933, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) has supported excellence in veterinary medicine by setting and evaluating practices against rigorous standards of care. For veterinary teams, it provides a framework for continual improvement and high-quality care. For pet owners, AAHA accreditation is a trusted indicator of excellence—helping them identify hospitals that are truly committed to superior veterinary care.
The accreditation process
To attain AAHA accreditation, our hospital underwent an extensive in-person review process and demonstrated compliance with more than 900 care standards, covering every aspect of care, from client communication and patient handling to anesthetic and surgical safety. To maintain our accreditation, our practice is re-evaluated at regular intervals to ensure we continue to meet updated care guidelines and maintain our commitment to exceptional safety and care.

More than a name: AAHA in action
Our AAHA-accreditation reflects our passion for pets and our relentless drive to deliver the best possible care and experience. But more importantly, it’s a simple way to provide powerful peace of mind.
When you entrust your pet to the care of an AAHA-accredited hospital, you know that care includes modern safety measures such as:
- Comprehensive pain management before, during, and after procedures
- A dedicated technician-anesthetist to monitor your pet’s vital signs during anesthesia
- Tailored care for your pet’s life stage, whether they are a puppy, kitten, adult, or senior
- Safe and sterile surgical protocols that meet strict AAHA cleanliness and equipment standards
- Individualized vaccination plans based on lifestyle, risk, and medical history
- Emergency preparedness and patient safety protocols for both routine and urgent care
One designation, a thousand ways to care
You may not see every detail that sets us apart from a non-accredited practice—but you’ll feel the difference. You’ll feel it in how thoroughly we communicate, how gently we handle your pet, and how confidently and compassionately we guide you through every decision. And with that, we earn the most meaningful endorsement of all—your trust.
