In 2012 Best Friends Animal Hospital & Pet Resort underwent our first inspection by a national organization of veterinary professionals to gain the status of being AAHA accredited. At the time we were only the 2nd hospital in a 10 mile vicinity to gain this recognition (now there are 3 practices in that area). Actually, on average, only 12-15% of all veterinary hospitals in the US are accredited.
What this means is that we've met rigorous standards in all aspects of our profession from anesthesia and customer service to patient care and surgery. Not only do we have to go thru an exhaustive list of online questions, but we also have to undergo an inspection that reviews all aspects of our work. Therefore, this is a real team effort! Everyone is involved in not only passing certification, but also in maintaining the high level of patient care that must take place on a daily basis.
We underwent reinspection in October of 2014 and were granted a 3 year status (the most allowed), and will be undergoing our next inspection next week! We'll definitely let you know the results, but we'd love for you to take a moment & visit the AAHA page to learn more about what accreditation means for you & your pet: AAHA Pet Owner Page.
